My business of fashion was born from an airport pick-up

My pops owned a menswear sales agency that specialized in suits and ties. With the agency being smaller in size, I was often asked to help out - and on one particular day that was to make an airport pick-up and provide a city tour for a potential new brand to work with. That day led to a gig repping a small surf brand from Canada; Chip & Pepper Wetwear. Shortly after landing my first job in the industry I discovered Freshjive, arguably the first of its kind in what we now call streetwear.

As the business evolved and we introduced brands like Stussy and Freshjive to the market and started Timebomb Trading Inc. to distribute these brands and more, I began to personally understand what streetwear was for me; apparel inspired by skateboarding, workwear and music. A direct reflection of myself and a quiet statement to the world - my street style.
Inspiration and balance for daily life

I find inspiration in everything around me. A city I visit, a person I meet, a song I hear, a film I'm watching. When I'm in a creative mindset, I find that inspiration just flows from everything I encounter.

I am balanced by both stillness and movement. Beginning each day in complete calm before transitioning into my routine - out of my head, into my body. Maintaining daily movement through stretching, walking, hiking, skipping, swimming, and running, which is ever more important when I spend long days in meetings or in front of a computer. I rely on the physical and mental balance movement provides and seek this often in the mountains and rivers of North Vancouver.

Timeless design and complementary pieces

In recent years I have gravitated toward higher quality pieces that will last. During COVID I sold anything I wasn't wearing, using, or hanging on my wall and started to focus more on minimalistic items that would pass the test of time. Knowing I was in a place that individual items needed to compliment my daily life and focus on subtle details and thoughtful touches. My style is now slightly forward, but within a range—nothing too young, but still fresh and unique, and it should work with a wide range of items in my closet.

Pas Normal Studios x Salomon

With Pas Normal Studios hailing from Copenhagen, a city I have had the pleasure of working in and visiting on many occasions, the climate is very similar to Vancouver and so the products need to be minimal, highly technical and complimentary to the environment. Couple that with the innovation, trustworthiness and design of Salomon footwear and you've got a collection that will accompany me through many adventures. A shoe that can be worn effortlessly with my daily outfit and that's comfortable keeping me moving on my local gravel trails. Growing up in North Vancouver, and spending hours in these mountains weekly, these items fit my criteria just right and earn a place in my closet as pieces both timeless in design and well thought out in technical ability.
